Peter Plakidis has joined the board of Blackstone Minerals as non-executive director following the resignation of Steve Parsons after 3 years of service as a non-executive director. Mr Plakidis has over 20 years of investment banking and corporate experience, and has executed deals across industry groups and across a wide range of products such as acquisitions, equity capital raisings and leveraged finance.
Following its successful acquisition of Henty Gold Mine in Tasmania, Catalyst Metals has made some changes to its management and technical teams with the appointments of Bruce Robertson as chief executive from January 2021; Paul Kiley as general manager of business development in Bendigo; and Adam Place as a consultant. Current technical director Bruce Kay will focus on the important strategic decisions at the board, joint venture and exploration/operational/development levels. Trevor Ireland, who was lured out of retirement in early 2018 to assist on community issues and the Tandarra Gold Project, will be retiring from the board. Mr Robertson is an experienced geologist and chief executive whose career has been dominated by business and project evaluation, project development management and operational activities from a technical, financial and corporate perspective. Mr Kiley has over 35 years of experience in the mining and oil and gas industries, including the last five years as chief financial officer and company secretary of a resources company. Mr Place is skilled in community engagement, sustainability, environmental, permitting and licencing, health and safety, relationships with Victorian Government agencies and traditional owner relationships.
