After 15 years in the business, Perth catering company Fingerfood Catering has launched an online catering web site, believed to be the first of its kind in WA.
The O’Connor business, which is run by the Galati-Rando family, has developed a web site that includes photos of all dishes and finger foods the business sells, and a complete price list.
To best utilise the site, patrons start by choosing the type of function they are organising, the number of guests, and the type of cuisine desired.
Various dishes and recommendations appear on screen, with each dish accompanied by a total price, as well as the price per head for the whole order.
From that point, dishes can be added, deleted or changed until the patrons have customised the menu to the desired result.
Founder of Fingerfood, Santino Galati, says online orders still need to be double checked.
“It’s still not perfect and an on-line system will never be that. We phone people when they send through an order and finesse the details,” he says. “Some people get carried away with the quantities when they are looking at the pretty pictures. Our expertise includes making sure they don’t order too much or too little.”
The company says its commercial kitchen in O'Connor enables it to ‘‘service the Fremantle vegetarian as well as time-challenged business people in the Perth CBD’’.
