Bishop floats education reform

FEDERAL Education Minister Julie Bishop has called for a nationalised curriculum set by a national board of studies, and has hinted that schools funding negotiations will be linked to the adoption of a nationally consistent approach. Ms Bishop has warned the states that she wants "better value for money" from education funding, and is pushing for a curriculum with a focus on core subjects, including Australian history, and a renewed focus on numeracy and literacy.
