Biotechs team up

TWO Perth-based biotechnology companies have announced the establishment of a co-marketing agreement. Neuro-Discovery, a neurology-focused biotechnology company, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, NeuroSolutions, will collaborate with Epichem, a subsidiary of PharmAust. Under the Agreement, NeuroSolutions and Epichem will cooperate to identify, develop and exploit new business opportunities for each other and provide introductions and referrals in relation to the services provided by both parties. The agreement is expected to assist in raising the profile of both companies in the biopharmaceutical sector, potentially leading to additional clients and collaborations NeuroSolutions said. NeuroSolutions’ chief exec-utive Alistair Dixon said the co-marketing agreement would deliver benefits to both parties. “NeuroSolutions regularly undertakes business develop-ment activities and attends conferences in Europe and the US from its base in the UK,” he said. “For example, in November, we are planning to attend The Society for NeuroScience in the US, which will be attended by up to 50,000 delegates and is a great opportunity to promote the services of both companies.” Epichem managing director Wayne Best said: “While Epi-chem continues to provide chemistry services to a number of large pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, we are in a position to promote the unique neurology services and models provided by NeuroSol-utions to our clients who may wish to then contract NeuroSol-utions to validate compounds in the neurology field.”
