Bencubbin telecentre opens

A NEW telecentre has officially opened in the northern Wheatbelt town of Bencubbin.

The new facility is expected to deliver online and over-the-counter business services to the local shire’s 800 residents and people from surrounding districts.

The town’s active progress organisation, the Better Bencubbin Association, worked with the Shire of Mount Marshall to secure the centre.

The centre has attracted $30,000 in establishment funds from the State Government and has qualified for $20,000 annually towards a co-ordinator’s salary.

Bencubbin’s telecentre is one of 94 telecentres State-wide funded through the Western Australian Department of Local Government and Regional Development and the federal Networking the Nation program.
