Behaviour Based Safety Presentation
On Monday May 24 the Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention in conjunction with FutureMedia is conducting a half day seminar on behaviour based safety titled This Year’s Most Powerful Safety Presentation, at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle.
The seminar will feature a presentation from Ken Woodward, one of the United Kingdom’s leading safety advocates, who lost his sight and sense of smell and taste after being injured in a chemical explosion at work in 1990.
During the presentation Mr Woodward will use humour and raw emotion to highlight and raise awareness of the importance of safety consciousness at work and reinforce the need for positive safety practices to be established amongst employees.
Mr Woodward will also share with attendees the five behavioural/human factors that lead to his injuries; why the accident happened; the importance of incident reporting, safety audits, observations and feedback; and the consequences of the choices and decisions that we make.
Registration for the seminar can be made with the Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention for $143.55 for members or $159.50 for non-members. For further information or to register contact Alison Woodcock on 9430 6611 or email awoodcock@ifap.asn.au.
