BankWest sells online

BANKWEST is now offering customers an online share trading service.

The service is operated by Hartley Poynton and is offered through BankWest Online Banking.

It uses secure online trading technology and allows customers to buy and sell shares at lower fees than using a traditional stockbroker.

It costs $29 per transaction for trades up to $10,000 and 0.3 per cent for trades higher than $10,000 to trade through the new service.

Trades can also be made by telephone at a cost of $49 or 0.5 per cent for trades over $10,000.

BankWest general manager marketing and customer services Alan Jennings said the number of people who had pre-registered for the service had been beyond expectations.
