The Australia Business Arts Foundation’s adviceBank, a free service for arts organisations has gone national with the support of leading business advisory firm, KPMG.
With KPMG as adviceBank’s principal partner, ABAF has extended the pilot from Victoria, where it has been trialled, and was launched in Western Australia on April 29, 2003.
The adviceBank concept is to match volunteers from corporates with specific business skills to arts organisations needing assistance in those areas. Arts organisations large and small benefit from access to free, one-on-one professional advice – an immediate need is met and long-term management skills are developed.
The aim is to transfer the adviser’s skills to increase the knowledge of the arts organisation. Working in different, creative environments provides a stimulating opportunity for advisers. For business, it’s a cost-effective volunteering program that develops and motivates employees.
