Bad bite unlikely for Australia

AUSTRALIA is unlikely to be badly bitten by the Millennium Bug, according to information presented at the first National Infrastructure For-um on Y2K readiness.

The forum brought together leading industry groups, utilities and infrastructure organisations to give detailed reports on their Y2K progress.

Year 2000 steering committee chairman Maurice Newman said the briefing was a major step forward in helping make preparations for the new millennium.

“Australia is one of the first countries to provide a forum where industry delegates can air their concerns and have them anwered,” he said.
