BGC Construction has been awarded the $58 million construction contract for the new Perth Police Complex.
The new complex will be built on the corner of Roe, Fitzgerald and James Streets in Northbridge.
The 17,090 square-metres four-storey building was designed by architect Peter Hunt in association with Daryl Jackson Architects and Guymer Bailey Architects.
Forward works have already been carried out on the site, including demolition of existing buildings, the relocation of essential services, bore piling and removal of soil.
Police Minister Rob Johnson said the $113 million project was on time and on budget, with building set to start next month and the complex ready for use by late 2012.
"The team working on this project have gone to great lengths to ensure the building, in its scale, height and design, will fit into the context of Northbridge," he said.
"The new facility will not only be attractive and innovative in appearance but also offer state-of-the-art, efficient and comfortable work facilities for our hard working police officers."
