Award for our journalist

THE Note congratulates WA Business News journalist Marsha Jacobs (right), who won the Best Newcomer Prize at the annual WA Media Awards on Saturday night. An honours graduate in law from Notre Dame University, Jacobs joined WA Business News in April 2004 to cover property, law, tourism, arts and general business issues such as women in business. She submitted three pieces – an investigative story on 1980s business identity Glenn Wheeler; a report on litigation finding company IMF winning a key Federal Court decision; and an extensive feature on the gender divide in WA’s business community, which included interviews with several notable female business leaders. The judges said Jacobs’ work contained “excellent reporting, research and analysis” and that she was “a clear communicator”.
