On Thursday November 6 the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia is running a seminar titled Avoiding Unfair Dismissals at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Centre for Learning.
The seminar will examine what constitutes a valid reason to end an employment contract and the basic pre-termination procedures necessary to avoid an unfair dismissal claim.
Topics that will be covered during the seminar include, valid and invalid reasons for termination; basic procedural fairness for poor performance and misconduct; when is a resignation really a dismissal; and correct notice and other requirements upon termination.
