BOUTIQUE winery owner and operator Australian Wine Holdings is expecting a steady recovery to positive earnings on the back of a brand development strategy. AWL expressed that hope in its half-yearly report where it also announced a half-year loss of $103,000 to December 31, down 83 per cent on 2003 results.
The report was up-beat however, predicting growth in the company’s bottled wine products for the full year.
Wine and wine services revenue for the period were up 3.8 per cent to $3.01 million, however, the sales mix continued to swing increasingly towards higher margin, premium bottled wines accounting for most of the improved earnings before interest, depreciation and amortisation which was $411,721.
