Over Friday March 8 to Sunday March 10 the 2nd Australian Regional Economies Conference will be held at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, in Mandurah.
The program will comprise four structured themes and deliver an information toolkit for those seeking to develop an action-oriented approach to strengthening community economies.
The international keynote speaker is Sirolli Institute founder and chief executive officer Dr Ernesto Sirolli.
Dr Sirolli will present his paper Ripples from the Zambezi: Passion, Entrepreneurship and the Rebirth of Local Economies on day one of the conference.
Additional speakers at the conference include Corporate Diagnostics managing director Peter Bycroft, National Economics Melbourne principal economist Dr Craig Shepherd, Hervey Bay City Council chief executive officer Leigh Bennett and Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) chief economist Tim Harcourt, Peel Development Commission chief executive officer Maree De Lacey, and Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast Pty Ltd chief executive officer Colin Graham.
Peel Area Consultative Committee (Peel ACC) executive officer Patrick Gallagher, Tourism Alliance Victoria manager industry and business development Bindi Gove, LandCorp chief executive officer Ross Holt, City of Mandurah deputy chief executive officer and director community development Ian Hill, City of Mandurah chief executive officer Mark Newman, and Murdoch University pro vice chancellor for regional development and professor of English Kateryna Longley, will also speak at the conference.
