Federal Opposition foreign affairs spokesman Kevin Rudd is visiting Perth and will speak at a breakfast function for the Australia-Indonesia Business Council and the Australia-Malaysia Business Council on August 2 at the Matilda Bay Restaurant and Function Centre. Mr Rudd will speak on Australia’s role within ASEAN and how he sees our place within Asia. He will examine our relations with ASEAN and the issues that stand in our way of becoming a member of this elite and powerful organisation. A former Australian diplomat and business consultant to China, Mr Rudd was elected to parliament in 1998 and to the shadow ministry in 2001. In addition to foreign affairs, he is also trade spokesman. Tickets to the function are $35.
