LATEST figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics confirm that part of the so-called ‘Great Australian Dream’ still includes owning your own home, says LJ Hooker’s Tony Cavallo.
“As we enter the year 2000, our biggest goal is to own our own place of residence,” Mr Cavallo said.
While the traditional quarter acre may now be out of reach of many, according to the ABS 70 per cent of Australia’s estimated seven million households live in homes they either own outright or are paying off.
