Ausdrill wins $180m Wodgina contract

Mining services company Ausdrill has received a letter of intent for a three-year contract worth $180 million with Mineral Resources at its Wodgina lithium mine in the Pilbara.

Ron Sayers said the company was pleased to have negotiated the new contract.

Mining services company Ausdrill has received a letter of intent for a three-year contract worth $180 million with Mineral Resources at its Wodgina lithium mine in the Pilbara.

Under the contract, Ausdrill will provide drill and blast services at the project, using 29 drill rigs with 150 personnel.

Final award of the contract is subject to finalisation of contract terms and conditions.

Managing director Ron Sayers said the company was pleased to have negotiated the new contract and looked forward to working with MinRes.

MinRes is currently building a lithium concentrate plant at the Wodgina site, which is expected to cost about $220 million.

The company is also planning to construct a lithium carbonate plant in the same location that has two 25,000 tonnes per annum processing trains, each costing about $200 million.
