Shares in Ausdrill and Nido Petroleum have entered a trading halt and suspension respectively; with Ausdrill stating it will announce an impairment charge.

The Ausdrill announcement will also cover the effect of a change to its tax status in Mali.

Mining services contractors have seen lean times recently, with activity in the sector slowing.

Nido requested the suspension to process a corporate transaction, and expects the suspension will remain in place until the commencement of trading on Tuesday.

Nido Petroleum yesterday saw a significant change in its share register, with BCP Energy International acquiring a 19.7 per cent stake from Abu Dhabi’s Petroleum International Investment Corporation.

BCP Energy is a subsidiary of Thailand’s Bangchak Petroleum.
