Public sector health agencies
The WA Auditor General’s latest report into public sector health agencies says 95 per cent of the agencies last year reported performance indicators 12 weeks after a deadline previously extended by six weeks.
In some cases, the indicators were returned for revision because of poor quality, and subsequently annual reports were produced late.
The Auditor General suggests compliance deficiencies could be symptomatic of management problems.
Some aspects of asset management, revenue collections and banking, expenditure controls and payroll reconciliation were also identified in the report as areas of concern.
