A CONCEPT plan for the rejuvenation of Armadale has been released.
Key redevelopment concepts outlined in the draft plan include:
Design and planning improvements to the city centre;
Creating an international-standard rowing course, public recreation areas and commercial and residential development at Champion Lakes;
Developing a contemporary, functional business node at South Armadale and a business park at Forrestdale to generate up to 4,000 new jobs; and
New residential areas showcasing industry best practice in urban water management and energy efficient housing in the inner city, at Champion Lakes, Champion Drive and on the CALM site on Albany Highway, which is also suitable for medical and community uses.
The public comment period ends on February 20.
Displays on the draft concept plan will be located at the Armadale Redevelopment Authority’s office at Shop 4-5, Armadale Shopping City, Jull Street Mall and at the City of Armadale office in Orchard Avenue.
People wanting to comment on the plan should complete a submission form available on the ARA’s website at www.ara.wa.gov.au or from the displays.
