Alan Barrett has been appointed chief executive of the National Trust of Western Australia, effective December 15. He brings more than 20 years’ executive leadership experience, most recently as executive director of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, with previous senior roles at the Art Gallery of WA, WA Museum, and the Public Sector Commission.
Perth Festival has appointed Marah Braye as chief executive, commencing January 2026. Ms Braye brings more than 20 years’ experience in the global arts sector, including as CEO of Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre and the Biennale of Sydney. Her appointment follows an international search and coincides with the release of the 2026 Festival program. She replaces Nathan Bennett, who departs after a decade to lead the World Masters Games Perth 2029.
Former Department of Training and Workforce Development director general Karen Ho has been appointed chair of the Building and Construction Industry Training Board, succeeding Reg Howard-Smith. She is joined by new board member Dylan Ogilvie, operations manager at Melchor Contracting, who brings more than 20 years’ experience in construction and civil works. Both appointments are for fixed three-year terms concluding on 26 October 2028.
Western Australia's chief health officer Andy Robertson has announced his retirement after 22 years. Dr Robertson joined the WA Department of Health in 2003 and was key part of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee established to lead national health responses to the COVID pandemic. Prior to the pandemic, Dr Robertson lead health sector responses to events such as the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Bali bombings, and undertook emergency deployments after regional earthquakes and the Fukushima nuclear incident. Dr Robertson will continue in the roles of chief health officer and deputy director general, public and Aboriginal health until February.
Curtin University chancellor Vanessa Guthrie has been appointed chair-elect of IGO. She will join the board on December 1, succeeding Michael Nossal, who will step down from his post on January 1. Dr Guthrie is a seasoned executive and presently sits on the boards of Lynas Rare Earths, Santos and Orica. She’s also deputy chair of Cricket Australia.
Michael Corboy has been appointed commissioner of the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC). He succeeds the Hon John McKechnie, who retired as CCC commissioner in June after more than nine years in the role. Mr Corboy had been the commission’s inaugural deputy commissioner since July 2024 and interim CCC commissioner since mid-2025. Mr Corboy’s five-year term as CCC commissioner begins on 3 November 2025. He previously served as a justice of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. Prior to this, Mr Corboy was a partner at international and Australian law firms. Scott Ellis, a barrister for more than 20 years, has been reappointed as acting commissioner of the CCC for a further term of three years, commencing 3 November 2025.
David Harwood has been appointed as a new member of the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) together with three reappointed members. Mr Harwood served as a Senior Assistant State Solicitor at the State Solicitor’s Office for the past 12 years in litigation and dispute resolution in medical negligence, asbestos diseases and coronial matters. He also undertook related mediations and led legal teams as counsel.
Mr Harwood's appointment as a full-time ordinary member of SAT coincides with the reappointments of full-time ordinary members Vanessa Haigh, Rochelle Lavery and Ross Povey, all on five-year terms. Experienced lawyer Ms Haigh worked previously as an arbitrator at WorkCover WA and has mediated and presided over SAT hearings in guardianship and administrations matters. Ms Lavery, a former City of Subiaco chief executive, and Mr Povey, who has an architecture and town planning background, have mediated and presided over hearings in development and resources matters.
Gresham Property has appointed Rachelle Lewis as investment director, its first Perth-based appointment as the firm expands in Western Australia. Ms Lewis brings more than 26 years’ finance experience across real estate, manufacturing, and industrial sectors, including senior leadership roles at NAB. She will lead deal origination, execution, and growth of Gresham Property’s WA business.
Mount Ridley Mines has appointed resources executive Allister Caird as chief executive. Mr Caird brings 15 years’ experience as a geologist in the energy and resources sector, most recently serving as head of critical minerals at Locksley Resources. He previously held exploration and research roles with 88 Energy and the CSIRO, and will lead Mount Ridley’s strategy as an emerging critical minerals producer.
As HLB Mann Judd Perth expands its presence in WA with the acquisition of WA-based firm, A Plus Business Advisors, Garry Anderson, director and owner of A Plus, and Maka Sikazwe, the associate director of the firm, have joined HLB Perth as directors in the business advisory division. The deal, which came into force on November 3, sees the Perth business advisory team rise to more than 30 employees. There were 10 appointments across its Australian network through the deal.
Perth Airport has appointed Lee Lawler as retail asset manager for its Skyfields team. Ms Lawler, formerly head of retail at CBRE and asset manager at Sirona Urban, will oversee the DFO and Dunreath Village shopping centres and support new retail opportunities within the town centre precinct.
Mamamia has appointed Jessica Steliou as head of sales WA, a newly created role to lead the company’s expansion into Western Australia. Reporting to chief revenue officer Georgie Nichols, Ms Steliou brings 12 years’ media sales experience, most recently as agency account director at ARN.

Greg Lilleyman has transitioned to executive chair of Genmin, an aspiring Gabon-focused iron ore producer. Mr Lilleyman – an experienced mining executive with more than 30 years of experience across major companies such as Fortescue, Rio Tinto and Global Lithium – joined Genmin’s board in July last year.
