Vanessa Kickett has been elected chair of the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council. Ms Kickett is a Whadjuk Noongar woman with more than 15 years’ experience in policy, contract management, Aboriginal heritage and culture, native title and Aboriginal engagement. She works as the team leader of Aboriginal heritage approvals at Water Corporation. Barry Winmar and Noelene McCormick were also appointed as directors at the annual general meeting.
Robyn Collins has been made chair of the South Metropolitan Health Service board, and Kim Gibson has been appointed as deputy chair. Ms Collins was previously the Western Australian state manager of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and served as deputy chair of the board. Ms Gibson is chair of the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and has worked in health for the past 30 years.
Romola Bucks has been appointed director of the Raine Study to look after its day-to-day operations, replacing Peter Eastwood. Ms Bucks is a professor at the School of Psychological Science at the University of Western Australia. She sits on the board of the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and in 2018 was made a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science.
Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association has announced the re-election of Kevin Gallagher as chair and Ian Davies as vice chair. Mr Gallagher is the managing director and chief executive of Santos and is entering his second term as chair. Also entering his second term, Mr Davies is the managing director and chief executive of Senex Energy.
Melanie Lynn has joined Pragma Lawyers as a senior associate. Ms Lynn has previously worked for Lawfield Legal and Ilbery Barblett. She has acted in disputes arising out of contract, property disputes, Corporation Act matters, equitable actions, intellectual property disputes and insurance.
Riversgold has hired Vincent Bellandi as exploration manager. Mr Bellandi has more than 12 years’ experience exploring for gold and base metals in Western Australia and West Africa. His most recent role was with Gascoyne Resources as senior exploration geologist.
