Our weekly appointments wrap includes Jenn Morris, Rick Smith and Steven Alexander. 

Jenn Morris has joined PR firm Cannings Purple in the new position of national director, strategy. Ms Morris is the former chief executive of the Minderoo Foundation’s initiative against modern slavery Walk Free. She is a non-executive director of Fortescue Metals Group and Sport Australia and previously served as a director of Fremantle Football Club, the WA Institute of Sport and as chairperson of Healthway. 

Canyon Resources has hired Rick Smith as chief development officer. Mr Smith was previously a senior executive at Guinea Alumina Corporation Project where he was involved in leading negotiations for rail and other infrastructure agreements with the Guinea government. Prior to this appointment, he worked at Gulf Canada Resources and BHP.

Digital Wine Ventures has welcomed Steven Alexander as chief operating officer of its Winedepot business. With experience in supply chains, Mr Alexander has previously worked in senior operations roles for courier business Fastway, temperature controlled-warehousing and transportation supplier Americold and global logistics company Damco.
