Our weekly appointments wrap includes Tony Hughes-d'Aeth, Maria Hodges and Aaron Brasher

Tony Hughes-d'Aeth has been appointed chair in Australian literature at the University of Western Australia, replacing Philip Mead. Professor Hughes-d'Aeth works as an associate professor in UWA’s School of Humanities. He has published articles on Australia’s literary history and is known for his work on the relationship between Australian literature and the environment. Professor Hughes-d'Aeth is also a director of the Westerly Research Group at the university.

Maria Hodges is the new head of junior school at Scotch College. Prior to her appointment at the school, Mrs Hodges was the head of junior school at Wesley College, responsible for 330 students. She was a director of pastoral care, planning and co-curricular and a classroom teacher at Christ Church Grammar School and head of junior school at St Andrew’s Grammar.

Digital Wine Ventures has hired Aaron Brasher as head of marketplace of its WINEDEPOT business. Mr Brasher has over 25 years’ experience in the wine sector, working for brands including Penfolds and Petaluma. Most recently, he worked as director business development at Robert Oatley Vineyards.
