WA Museum Boola Bardip has appointed former West Australian Ballet executive director Jessica Machin in the newly created role of director, regions. The role involves working closely with the regional managers at the museum’s regional sites in Albany, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie and Gwoonwardu Mia. Ms Machin led the WA Ballet since mid-2016. Before that, she worked as the chief executive of Regional Arts WA for eight years.
Black Swan State Theatre Company of WA has welcomed Clint Bracknell and Mimi Packer to its board. Dr Bracknell is a musician and researcher from the south coast Nyoongar region and associate professor at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University. Ms Packer is on the board of The Fathering Project and the Australian Bridge Federation Foundation.
Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science has appointed James Williams to its board and made him chair of the institute’s commercialisation committee. Dr Williams is the chair and co-founder of Dimerix, and investment director and co-founder of Yuuwa Capital. He is a member of the federal government’s Entrepreneur Program Committee and a former non-executive director of Linear Clinical Research.
Westgold Group executive chair Peter Cook, Saracen Minerals Holdings general manager people, culture and communications Marianne Dravnieks and Newmont group executive legal, sustainability and external relations Australia Andrew Kennedy have joined the board of Gold Industry Group. Fiona Murfitt, who works as general manager of sustainability at Evolution Mining, and independent consultant Giulia Savio were re-elected to the board, after joining in early 2020.
