International meningitis role for Wilkie
Former federal member for Swan, Kim Wilkie, has been appointed chief executive of the worldwide Confederation of Meningitis Organisations, which will be based in Perth. Mr Wilkie served nine years in the federal parliament and was heavily involved in international affairs as a member of the Joint Standing Committee for Treaties and the Joint Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs Defence and Trade.
Denys steps down from Plan B
Plan B Group Holdings managing director Denys Pearce will step down from the board due to the role being made redundant. In the interim, executive chairman Bryan Taylor will assume leadership responsibilities within the group. Mr. Pearce will continue to play an active role with the Plan B group, assisting Mr Taylor during an expected three-month transition period. He will also remain a director of Plan B Trustees Ltd and a member of the Company’s Investment Policy Committee.
Wesfarmers restructures industrial
Wesfarmers Chemicals & Fertilisers and Wesfarmers Energy divisions will merge to form a new division known as Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers. Current managing director of Wesfarmers Energy, Tom O’Leary, will lead the new division. Wesfarmers Chemicals & Fertilisers current managing director Ian Hansen will take on the role of CEO chemicals, reporting to Mr. O’Leary. The appointments take effect immediately with restructuring activities expected to be completed by the end of June.
Newton joins CME
The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia has appointed Rob Newton to the position of media and public affairs executive officer. Mr Newton has fourteen years experience within media - both as a journalist and media adviser. Most recently, he held the position of state political reporter for Channel Ten News, and has previously worked as a ministerial media adviser in the Gallop government.
New Pilbara Tafe MD
Lynette Farrell has been appointed to the position of Pilbara TAFE managing director. Ms Farrell is currently the director organisational services at South West Regional College of TAFE. Prior to this role Ms Farrell was the general manager organisational services at Swan TAFE.
New face at Colliers*
Nick Di Lello will take up the role of head of department project residential, land estates and tourism. Mr Di Lello comes to Colliers International from privately-owned boutique developer Taggart Group, where he held the role of general manager. In the past six years he has been involved in the identification, planning, development and sale of projects worth an estimated $300 million.
International role for former MP

Michaella Rogers and Teghan Britton-Lee have been appointed director of office support and director human resources & talent management, respectively. Ms Rogers has 16 years recruitment experience across both the Australian and UK markets in this specialist area. Ms Britton-Lee has more than 10 years experience in the HR area. She will work with both business streams assisting clients with resourcing needs, career management or transition programs, psychological consulting, talent and development programs and EI assessment and coaching.

Michael Wylie has been appointed recruitment manager at ACS Global. Mr Wylie has extensive resource sector recruitment experience, as well as hands on experience, from working in the North West in a FIFO environment. He worked for Titan Recruitment for six years, initially specialising in mechanical and project controls roles, before moving into a management position.
New role for Burrows
The Department of Planning has appointed former local government planning executive Sue Burrows as its first independent planning reviewer. Ms Burrows will provide assessment and advice on planning process matters to the department as well as independent counsel on planning applications to consultants, developers, local government and others.
New SmartWorker state manager *
Recruitment specialists SmartWorker has appointed Janine Henderson as WA state manager. Ms Henderson's position, based in Perth, will see her play a principal role in recruiting IT staff for the mining, natural resources, civil and building infrastructure sectors in WA. Ms Henderson will direct and oversee the placement of contract and permanent staff in some of the worlds mining and natural resources companies.
Davies joins UWA
Mary Davies has been appointed as the University of Western Australia's new librarian and director information management. Dr Davies becomes only the fifth librarian in the University's history and replaces John Arfield, who retired earlier this year after 14 years. Dr Davies is currently the deputy chief information officer and director of research and learning support at King's College in London and has had a distinguished career in library and information services in the university, government and private sectors, including eight years with Cancer Research UK. , an information management expert who transformed the e-learning and research information management systems of King's College London
Peritus strengthens team*
Peritus International, providers of advanced subsea and floating systems engineering and project management services, has appointed Thyl Kint as global director floating systems and Asia Pacific field developments. He has previously worked in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia for some of the oil and gas industry's biggest players including Shell, BP, BHP, Kerr McGee, BW Offshore and Spitfire Oil. He also spent several years managing his own oil and gas engineering consultancy and a deepwater R&D group.
