LISTED engineering company RCR Tomlinson has appointed Peter Candeland (top) as general manager of RCR Austheat and Ian MacGregor (below) as workshop manager at its Welshpool premises.
Mr Candeland recently acted as a facilitator in RCR’s acquisition of the business and assets of Austheat and has been given the brief to grow the business in Australia and South East Asia.
He served as a director of an international heat treatment company for many years and participated in start-up operations throughout South Africa, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
Mr MacGregor has worked in the Western Australian engineering industry since graduating as a mechanical engineer in 1978.
Most recently he was works manager with Begley International in Malaga.
ROY Francis has joined the process team at Sinclair Knight Merz as senior project metallurgist.
He was previously metallurgy manager at the Mt Kieth Nickel operation and also held operations roles in iron ore, base metals and gold.
With SKM Mr Francis will be responsible for directing the process aspects of a diverse range of feasibility studies and projects.
MURDOCH University has appointed John Pease as its director of legal and governance.
Mr Pease has a combination of legal and managerial experience including having practised as a barrister at Francis Burt Chambers. He was also BankWest’s senior legal counsel.
CHARTERS Chartered Accountants has added Toni Angelevski to its team.
Mr Angelevski’s previous experience includes eight years with a second-tier accounting firm in the areas of taxation, audit and assurance services.
ANTHONY Benino has been appointed chief financial officer of the Westralian Group, a Perth-based mining, telecommunications and property group.
Mr Benino was previously the chief financial officer of online broker Sanford. VORAN Consultants has promoted Raymond Chan (top left) to senior manager of business and technology and Ray Contreras (top right) to manager wireless. It has also appointed Keith Wright (below) as manager networks and systems.
Mr Chan was previously Voran’s senior consultant in technology. He specialises in technology that assists businesses in efficiency and productivity solutions.
Mr Cotreras was previously a telecommunications consultant at Voran. He has been in the telecommunications industry for the past 12 years.
Mr Wright has more than 28 years experience in telecommunications engineering.
COLIN Simpson (left) and Sue Jauncey (right) have been added to the team at Gerard Daniels Australia.
Mr Simpson is joining as principal within the Executive Search division.
Ms Jauncey will head the company’s new Performance Consulting division.
Prior to joining GD, Mr Simpson was a strategic director at ERG. He was also a senior manager at WA Newspapers.
Ms Jauncey, a registered psychologist, was an organisational development consultant at MODAL. She has also worked for Ernst & Young and Anderson Consulting.
THE Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth has appointed Peter Mason and Paul Kelly to its board.
Mr Mason is chairman of the JP Morgan Chase bank in Australia. He has more than 30 years experience in investment banking and is currently a director of AMP Limited and Mayne Group Limited.
Mr Kelly is editor-at-large of The Australian. He spent much of the past 30 years as a political correspondent and newspaper and TV commentator on politics.
Rod Wakefield has been appointed managing director of Western Australian-owned company and computer supplies player aussie i.t.
Mr Wakefield was previously in business development and management positions within the industrial, education, training and recruitment sectors.
He currently lectures in logistics management at Challenger TAFE.
NIGEL Spicer has been appointed as principal consultant – mining engineering for mining industry consulting group RSG Global.
Mr Spicer has more than 25 years experience in both open pit and underground mining, operating in a number of countries in management and technical positions in both client-based and consultancy roles.
AMANDA Raven has been appointed business management consultant at Paradigm Total Salary Management.
Ms Raven will be based in the WA-headquartered company’s Sydney office.
Prior to joining Paradigm she spent 17 years with Baycorp Advantage, most recently with the position of national business development manager.
NEWLY-LISTED health, safety and environmental consultancy MPL Group has appointed Matthew Thomas as its general manager.
Mr Thomas has more than 14 years of senior management experience. His most recent position was general manager of Hyster West.
