Wesfarmers appoints two directors

Former Westpac executive Diane Smith-Gander and retail expert Archie Norman are the latest additions to the Wesfarmers board. Mr Norman, who has helped Coles at the management level since 2007, will act as an advisor to the board on retail issues. Ms Smith-Gander has more than 25 years experience in the business arena having also been a partner at management consultancy McKinsey & Company.

Kennedy resigns from Indago

Three weeks after being part of the group which successfully challenged the board of Indago Resources, prominent Perth businessman Miles Kennedy has resigned from his directorship. Mr Kennedy cited personal reasons for his departure.

Croesus reshuffles board

Two months after announcing plans to acquire Apex Minerals nickel assets, Croesus Mining has made several changes to its board. David Steinepreis, Gary Steinepreis and Pat Burke have resigned while Mark Bennett and Jeffrey Foster have been appointed as managing director and chief executive officer respectively. Stephen Lowe takes the non-executive chairman while Anna Neuling assumes company secretary responsibilities.

Wilson to BHP Energy Coal division

Long-standing BHP executive Jimmy Wilson has been appointed as president of the company's energy coal division, headquartered in Sydney. Mr Wilson, who has spent 17 years at BHP, will relinquish his Perth-based role, president of the stainless steal materials division, which will be headed by Gerard Bond in an acting capacity pending a permanent appointment.
