Grimley joins Badge
Paul Grimley has been appointed as state manager for the WA division of commercial construction company Badge. Mr Grimley was most recently a private consultant to the building industry, including as commercial manager for Brookfield Multiplex’s Fiona Stanley hospital project during the Stage 1 bid phase. He has previously held senior positions with Bovis Lend Lease in the UK, Pyramid Constructions and Sizer in WA.
Moves at McMullen Nolan
McMullen Nolan Group founders John McMullen and Gerry Nolan have announced their retirements from the surveying company they founded 23 years ago, following the appointment of Scott Anderson as chief executive officer in June. Both founders will remain on the board as non-executive directors and as consultants on specialised projects. Mr McMullen will continue as board chairman. Mr Anderson is supported by the newly appointed executive management team, which consists of director of land development Stuart Torode, director of resources and infrastructure Mark Mariotti, director of shared services Steve Maughan, and manager of laser scanning John Nolan.
Bankwest recruits NAB exec
Former National Australia Bank state manager Andrew Whitechurch has been appointed head of Bankwest’s new products and marketing division. Mr Whitechurch has been with NAB for the past 18 years in various senior management positions, including the past seven in WA. He has also spent four years working in New Zealand’s financial services sector, including a stint as general manager for the Bank of New Zealand.
New to Talbot Olivier
Law firm Talbot Olivier has appointed Amanda Kailis as a senior associate in the commercial litigation team. Ms Kailis has previously worked in the criminal assets branch of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. Former Kitto & Kitto and Norton Rose solicitor Katherine Dowling has joined as a lawyer in the criminal law team. Marnus Smalberger, who previously worked at a mid-tier law firm, has been appointed as a lawyer in the wills, estate planning and administration team.
Keeves WAIA president
The Western Australian Internet Association has elected Richard Keeves as its new president, to replace Richard Bone, who has led the association since 2008. Mr Keeves is an independent digital strategist and business advisor. He was founder and managing director of the Internet Business Corporation until its sale in 2008.
Ross joins Right Group
Julia Ross has joined marketing and brand consultancy The Right Group as a senior consultant. Ms Ross was previously senior marketing coordinator for Adelaide-based Schneider Electric’s Clipsal brand.
