West Perth-based Apex Minerals has commenced commissioning of the plant and increased gold ore reserves at its cornerstone Wiluna mine, extending the projected life of the mine to four years.
This extension to the mine life could be further enhanced incrementally through additional drilling, with the first gold from the mine expected to surface in the last week of this month.
Wiluna, located 1000km north-east of Perth, past the Kalgoorlie goldfields, has already produced four million ounces of gold.
