THE Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) has granted conditional approval to Westpoint’s apartment development on the former Emu Brewery site.
The WAPC has approved the development of towers two and three but has limited the height of tower one from 21 storeys to six storeys following advice from the Central Perth Planning Committee and the Parliament House Precinct Committee.
The height of the building was restricted due to the impact it would have on views to and from Parliament House, the Swan River and city.
The Parliament House Precinct Policy identifies the need to maintain the views and the significance of the Parliament House precinct to protect its cultural and tourism value.
