Antam ties in locals

A leading Indonesian mining company, PT Aneka Tambang Antam, has developed strong ties with Australian companies to develop mineral resource in Indonesia.

The company will link with BHP Minerals Exploration Inc to develop nickel projects in Irian Jaya.

Antam, which listed on the Australian bourse at the beginning of August, is also a joint venture partner with Newcrest in the Gosowong gold mine in north-east Indonesia, and has a deal with Ashton Mining Limited to develop the Cempaka diamond mine in Kalimantan.

Antam is one of the top twenty stocks on the Indonesian exchange and qualifies to list on the Australian bourse as an exempt foreign entity.
