Another winery for south west

YET another winery and vineyard is planned for the Margaret River – the third fully integrated project in two years.

Headed by ex-Bond Corp executive Cedric Williamson, the Settlement 22 project plans to raise $37 million for a 113 hectare vineyard complete with a 3,000 tonne winery and tourism development.

Palandri was the first of the blocks, raising about $50 million from investors, which it is seeking to double this financial year.

In June, Watershed Wines launched a $40 million project.

Mr Williamson said his group was producing about 3,000 cases of wine that Vintage Cellars had taken first option for.

He said the cost and the management fees of the project would be less than other similar projects and it was geared more toward being a good investment with good returns rather than a tax effective scheme.
