Editors comment = OUR annual branding survey always generates a lot of feedback and a little criticism. This year is no different. We have never stepped away from the fact that the survey catchment is industry leaders who, ultimately, have some form of interest in the results. While I realise that the survey might not be perfect, it was designed to stimulate discussion around something that many of us see in decline – the truly Western Australian brand. For the record, the next most recognised brands below the top 10 were as follows: Home Building Society at number 11, Multiplex and then two brands at 13 – SGIO and Dale Alcock – followed by Peters & Brownes. Next we had Westnet and Tourism WA sharing 16th position, with iiNet, Gull, Burswood and BGC collectively taking the 18th spot and more than leaving us with a top 20.
