Amity trades queried

LARGE trades in Amity Oil Limited shares this year have prompted the Australian Stock Exchange to request a new list of Top 20 share and option holders.

The request was sent to Amity in mid-April and the new April 22 Top 20 lists show little change from those dated October 5 2001 in the company’s 2001 annual report.

An ASX spokesperson said such checks were made to see who could be making plays for a company, and to update the market.

Award rates climb

WA businesses across all industry sectors will be hit this month by increases in minimum rates of pay brought about by changes to the Minimum Conditions of Employment Act.

Hospitality industry such as the Hotel & Tavern Workers Award, Motel, Hostel, Service Flats & Boarding House Workers Award and the Restaurant, Tearoom & Catering Workers Award will have increases in adult apprenticeship rates and junior rates.

Junior rates for media industry employees covered by the Radio & Television Employees Award will also rise.

Other sectors to be affected by the sweeping increases in rates will be the farm and meat industry, the printing industry and the fruit packing and fruit growing industry.
