STRATEGIC alliances will play an important role in shaping the way business will be done in the future, says Coles Myer CEO and managing director Dennis Eck.
Mr Eck made the comments to about 500 people attending a recent Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce business lunch.
He said Coles Myer was looking
at offering more than just consumer
products. It was also looking to
provide entertainment and
information.
This will be achieved by adopting alliances with other companies to fulfil these roles.
“We’re very much about developing cooperative win-win relationships,” Mr Eck said.
He said it was essential for business to stay ahead of the pack by continually challenging the boundaries within which they
operate.
“If you ever relax and feel that you have reached the top, then you are already in decline,” he said.
You have to continually do things better in order to stay on
top, Mr Eck said.
