BURATTI Fine Art is hosting the first Australian exhibition of 20th-century painter and poet, Aleister Crowley.
The exhibition opened last weekend at the North Fremantle-based gallery, having previously been exhibited at the Pompidou Centre and Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
Art dealer and Buratti Fine Art owner Rob Buratti said Mr Crowley’s paintings were highly sought after by Australian art collectors, and the exhibition’s reserve sales reached $200,000 prior to opening.
The collection is scheduled to head to Sydney in October next year and Mr Buratti is in discussions with the Venice biennale and a major eastern states museum, which are looking to showcase the collection.
