Akkodis wins $75m Landgate contract

IT services company Akkodis Australia Consulting has extended its relationship with state government agency Landgate by winning a major contract to provide managed applications support services.

Services to be delivered from November 1 include maintenance, development and support of managed applications within Landgate that underpin the agency’s core land information functions.

A spokesperson said it was not an extension of an existing contract, explaining that the new contract with Akkodis has a different scope to previous contracts.

It follows an open tender process led by the Department of Finance, with four applicants for the contract, according to details published on www.tenders.wa.gov.au.

Landgate and Akkodis have a long history together, including the establishment a decade ago of joint venture company Advara.

It had endeavoured to sell the cloud-based land registration platform used by Landgate to counterparts in other jurisdictions.

Advara was also awarded a $140 million contract in 2016 to deliver IT services back to Landgate.

Landgate sold its 78 per cent stake in that business to Akkodis (formerly Adecco Holdings) in 2019 for $7.2 million.

In tandem with the sale, it renegotiated terms for IT service provision.

The new contract is for a maximum 10-year term, comprising an initial four-year term, followed by three, two-year extension options.

The total potential value of the 10-year contract is $75 million.
