Agmaster wins business award

COLLIE-BASED Agmaster has been recognised for its work in the agriculture sector with success at the recent Australia Post Western Australian Regional Small Business Awards 2005. The company was named as recipient of the West Australian Regional Small Business Award, and the Telstra Country-Wide Business with 10 to 20 Employees Award. Agmaster director Geoff Glenn said the judging was based on five areas that covered the overall business. “The awards help recognise that you are a good performing business,” he said. “The awards help regional bus-iness understand where they are at and to let them know that they are up there with the best of them. “You believe yourself that you are running your business efficiently and effectively, but it’s great to get that recognition [through these awards] that you are doing a good job.” The company develops, produces and distributes no-till seeding systems to broadacre farmers across Australia. For the first time entrants to the awards were chosen from the Kimberley region, with Kimberley Boab Kreations winning the Golden West Network Business Enterprise Centre Achiever Award, Broome and The Kimberley Holidays the WA Business News Business with five to 10 Employees Award, and Broome Sightseeing Tours winning the TSA Corporation Home Base Business Award. Broome Sightseeing Tours co-owner Sheridon Robertson said winning the award would provide further support for their business. “It’s great for advertising and it shows that you are running a really good business,” she said. “[The awards] are great for the promotion of the company and also for the promotion of the Kimberley region.” Humfrey Land Developments, a land developer in the Geraldton and Exmouth areas, won the Planet Creative Micro Business Award. The awards were open to those businesses that have already won a category in their local, regional business awards event.
