Agmaster wins Telstra award

COLLIE business Agmaster has been named the 2005 Telstra Western Australian Small Business of the Year. Agmaster develops, produces and supplies seeding systems to broadacre farmers across Australia. The business started in 1994 as a two-man operation and now has a team of 14. Agmaster’s growth is expected to triple in the next five years and the company is discussing a possible relocation to Perth. Other category winners in the awards were: Flying Flowers, a flower mail-order company delivering flowers mostly to the UK; Commtech Wireless Pty Ltd, which designs and manufactures wireless messaging systems for a range of industries, including healthcare and aged care; and SRK Consulting, which provides consultancy services in the mining and exploration industries both nationally and internationally. The WA winners are now finalists in the national Telstra and Australian Governments’ Small Business Awards, to be announced on August 13. The awards were started in 1992 to recognise the achievements and enterprising spirit of small businesses across Australia.
