MARKETFORCE might have missed out on the Burswood account this week but a Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions advertising festival would have softened the blow.
MARKETFORCE might have missed out on the Burswood account this week but a Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions advertising festival would have softened the blow.
The Silver Lion was awarded to Marketforce in the Community Service category for the Nice People television commercial developed for the Cancer Foundation of WA.
It’s the first time any agency in WA has been awarded a Silver Lion at Cannes, the most highly regarded creative awards show in the world.
The commercial delivers a strong anti-smoking message introducing the viewer to the range of health professionals you’d have to meet if you’re diagnosed with lung cancer.
“We realised that it wasn’t enough to say smoking gives you cancer. The idea was to explain to people what this means,” Marketforce joint creative director Adam Barker said.
“We just happened to be shooting an ad for Brownes on the cancer ward and it really hit home you would not want to end you life this way.”
