ADVANCED Nanotechnology has announced that the Independent Philippine Petroleum Companies Association has endorsed the introduction of diesel premium plus fuel containing the additive Envirox, based on the company’s cerium oxide compound, into the Philippines.
According to the association, the fuel is already being sold in key eastern fuel stations in metropolitan Manila.
The announcement follows UK-based Stagecoach Group’s roll-out of the Envirox additive across its entire UK bus fleet earlier this month.
GRD’s strong position
RESOURCES contracting group GRD has released half-year results to December 31 confirming a net profit after tax of $79.8 million, an increase of more than 300 per cent on the previous corresponding period.
The profit result was largely attributable to the partial sale of its controlled entity Oceana Gold, which reduced GRD’s ownership to 56 per cent. However, the company also increased revenue from ordinary activities by 12 per cent to $252 million.
According to GRD, Oceana Gold contributed strongly, achieving record gold sales of 184,175 ounces, generating $118 million in sales revenue, which was up 10 per cent on the previous corresponding period.
GRD Minproc’s earnings before tax contribution was up 185 per cent to $9.6 million, based on revenue of $124 million.
