Business analytics consultancy Access Analytic Solutions has won the inaugural People’s Choice Award as part of this year’s Rising Stars Awards.
Access Analytic won the award after attracting more than 1000 online votes from its clients on the Rising Stars website.
The company, which started in 2000, prepares business analysis tools based mostly on Excel spreadsheets.
Its tools include financial modelling, management reporting and auditing services.
Over the past three years the company’s turnover has more than doubled while its full-time workforce has also doubled, to seven.
Its client base includes BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Woodside Petroleum, Chevron, National Australia Bank and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
It also runs training programs in Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Access Analytic chief executive Jeff Robson said the company built on long-term relationships with clients and professional networks, with 90 per cent of its business coming from referrals and repeat business.
Mr Robson also attributed the company’s growth to employing staff who actually want to work there and developing the soft skills of his staff through ongoing coaching, to help them develop long-term relationships with clients.
“The combination of these strategies provides us with a great value proposition for attracting and retaining staff, building a loyal client-base, and developing a successful business,” he said.
“We’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way of course but now believe we have a strategy that is building momentum and will help us continue to be a rising star.”
Access Analytic received its first, big break in 2005 when Chevron bought some software the company was selling and signed up for a half-day training course for some of its employees.
The company has come a long way from Mr Robson’s home-based project but believes it has only developed a small fraction of its market potential.
“Our success depends on continuing to grow our great team, further developing our leaders, educating the market through effective marketing, dedicated hard work, and further strengthening the great relationships we have with clients,” Mr Robson said.
“We have an unwavering, committed laser focus on our core business paramount for achieving true, long-term success.
“We don’t have a ‘plan B’ so nothing could be stronger than our commitment to seeing this business achieve its full potential.”
Access Analytic is active in the community, supporting charities, including Christian Blind Mission, Compassion and Greenpeace with regular contributions.
