ASIC wins PR gong

THE AUSTRALIAN Securities and Investments Commission has won an International Public Relations Association award.

IPRA named ASIC’s Millennium Bug Insurance – An Offer Too Good To Be True consumer protection campaign as one of the best public relations campaigns undertaken in the world during 1999.

The campaign was part of ASIC’s April Fools’ Day Joke series highlighting the dangers of investing over the Internet without first checking credentials.
