ASIC offers free feed

THE Australian Securities and Invest-ments Commission is offering a reward to whoever picks up its April Fool’s Day scam.

Last year the ASIC ‘raised’ $4.2 million with its Millennium Bug Insurance scam.

This was a fake Internet investment site telling people it was a sure thing they would triple their money if they invested in the company Millennium Bug Insurance.

The organisation is so confident, ASIC staff will “do a quick whip round and raise enough money to buy you a dinner for two at a restaurant of your choice in your State or Territory”.

To enter phone 1300 780 885 or email info@asic.gov.au by the close of business on 14 April.

All supporting material should be sent to Irene O’Brien, ASIC, GPO Box 4866, Sydney NSW 1042.
