IT outsourcing firm ASG Group is set to share in a 10-year, $80 million State Government shared services contract with partner, Oracle Corporation Australian Pty Ltd. ASG has been selected as preferred tenderer for the supply, implementation and support of a suite of corporate services business systems to five proposed shared services centres.
The proposed centres are part of the Government’s corporate services reform program to be used by most departments and agencies.
In an ASX announcement, ASG Group CEO Geoff Lewis said the contracts were scheduled for signing in the first quarter 2005.
If final negotiations are successful the contract is expected to generate “significant revenue for the consortium in the period up to FY2008”.
ASG completed a backdoor listing through Melbourne-based IT security firm eSec in July 2003. In January this year, ASG acquired Oracle solutions and services company ASSIST Pty Ltd for $4 million, with the purchase price dependent on performance-based criteria.
