APM completes second acquisition

Human services company APM has acquired Sydney-based online learning organisation MCI, its second acquisition in the past four months.

Perth-based APM already offers employment assistance, vocational rehabilitation, assessment, allied health and disability services and will now add online courses to its repertoire.

The MCI Institute is the vocational division of MCI and specialises in business courses while the company’s second branch, MCI Solutions, is a consultancy and corporate training provider.

APM will absorb MCI’s 27 full-time staff and 90 contractors.

APM chief executive Michael Anghie said the acquisition of MCI enhanced APM’s service delivery through a range of learning mediums, including face to face, digital, micro-learning and virtual.

“This acquisition fits neatly with our core business of helping people lead successful and fulfilling lives,” he said.

“It augments our service offering, meaning we can deliver even better outcomes for our clients and further consolidates APM’s position as Australia’s preeminent human services provider.”

MCI chief executive Jenna Meyerson said all management, staff and contractors would continue to work with new and existing clients.

APM acquired UK-based Ingeus, a provider of employment, health programs, services for young people, training and skills support and probation services, in November 2018 taking control of government-sponsored employment programs in Britain, the US, Canada, South Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore and Spain.  

Megan Wynne founded APM in 1994 and the company now employs over 1,700 people.

In 2017, Quadrant Private Equity acquired 60 per cent of the business.

MCI was established by Denise Meyerson in 2004 and now has more than 15 years’ experience in designing, developing and delivering learning solutions and qualifications for individuals and businesses.
