AMX changes its direction

MINERALS explorer AMX Resources has changed tack and entered the Internet communications market.

After establishing relationships with both PSlNet and Soul Pattinson Telecommunications Pty Ltd (SPT), the company last week commenced trialing Australia’s first broadband wireless local Ioop (WLL) network.

AMX managing director Wayne Loxton told Business News the trials, which would last from 4-6 weeks, were not to test the technology, but confirm system management practices.

The company plans to deploy

a nationwide network providing enhanced telecommunications services based on a true last mile solution.
