AMMG appoints Iggy Tan as MD

Former Kogi Iron and Galaxy Resources boss Iggy Tan has been appointed managing director of the Australia Minerals & Mining Group, as the company moves to commercialise its high purity alumina project in the state’s South West.

AMMG said Mr Tan was an accomplished project builder and developer, with key skills including capital raisings, project studies, chemical mineral processing, plant construction and operations.

“Mr Tan is a highly experienced mining and chemical executive with a number of significant achievements in commercial mining projects such as capital raisings, funding, construction, start-ups and operations,” AMMG chairman Luke Atkins said.

“We believe Mr Tan is highly suited to drive the advancement of our HPA project.”

Mr Tan previously held the role of managing director for iron ore developer Kogi Iron, and was managing director for Galaxy Resources between 2008 and 2013, where he was responsible for the construction and start-up of the company’s Mt Cattlin mine and Jiangsu lithium plant.

AMMG shares last traded at 8.6 cents per share at 11:35am.
