Opposition leader Eric Ripper has promised to publicly release a report into the state Labor Party's failed election campaign, as an inquiry carried out by former Victorian Senator Robert Ray begins.
ABC radio reported that Mr Ray met with the Labor caucus this morning and will be interviewing over 40 people during the next two days.
Mr Ray was reported as saying it was clear that the party did not sell itself well enough or promote its past achievements.
He is expected to report back to the state Labor Party by mid-December.
